(Cleveland) – Late Monday night on Cleveland’s west side, a man and a little girl were shot and injured. The incident happened in the area of W.100 and Loretta around 10:30 p.m. on Monday night.

Xavier Collins, 22, and a 7-year-old girl were at a gas station at West 106th and Bellaire. Cleveland Police say Collins had an argument with a man at the gas station and was shortly followed by him in a vehicle.

Once Collins and the girl left the gas station, the suspect followed them and began shooting a gun into Collins’ car. Both Collins and the girl were hit by bullets in the leg. Police and EMS were called out to West 98th Street, and EMS took both of them to MetroHealth Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries.

Collins was arrested for a narcotics violation. No other arrests have been made. The girl is the child of a woman Collins is dating.

Anyone with information about the suspect can call Cleveland Police at 216-623-5118.
