(Summit County) - Fire early Tuesday morning destroyed a service garage on Boston Mills Road where Summit County's Richfield Township stores all of the vehicles it uses to service the township's roads, heavily damaging or destroying snow plows and salt trucks.
The State Fire Marshall's office is investigating the blaze. The cause hasn't been determined, and WTAM 1100 has been told that vandalism in the building is something that rarely happens.
Township officials say the vehicles cost anywhere from $60,000 to $150,000, and will have to be replaced before winter, so that the township can plow and salt the roads.
The State Fire Marshall has taken over the investigation, as township trustees look for ways to replace the equipment.
