(Warren) - A corrections officer at the Trumbull County Jail was taken hostage by three inmates.

The situation began around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.

"The Trumbull County Sheriff's Office requested the Ohio State Highway Patrol Special Response Team, the FBI also assisted.

The Youngstown Vindicator reports that one of the inmates, David Martin, is being held on murder charges and had threatened corrections officers in recent weeks.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol brought a hostage negotiator to  the scene. After several hours, the inmates released of the officer. No one was hurt.
