(Garrettsville) - The State Fire Marshal's Office has ruled that Saturday's fire that destroyed much of downtown Garrettsville appears to have started on the roof of a building where crews were repairing the roof.

Saturday's fire destroyed 13 businesses in four buildings, along with the local food bank.

More than 130 firefighters from 34 agencies battled the blaze Saturday in Garrettsville, a village of about 2,200 residents in Portage County.

Three of the four buildings were made of wood and were built in the 1800s, before modern fire codes, officials said.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports no dollar amount has been placed on the damage yet.

A meeting for Garrettsville business owners was held Sunday night at a high school.
