(Akron) - Akron General Medical Center celebrated its' 100th anniversary Thursday.

As part of the celebration, the hospital unveiled a new forty foot mobile unit that can extend the institution's care outside of its' facility.

The unit comes complete with two exam rooms, a blood-draw room and it will be staffed by a nurse practitioner and an EMT.

The 40-foot bus will go to churches, schools, organizations and companies which need health screenings.

Dr. Tim Stover says it extends the hospital's mission of taking health care to the patient.
