(Cleveland) - A sunken barge on the Cuyahoga River has been brought to the water's surface.

The barge began sinking early Thursday and fell to the river's depths near the Columbus Road lift bridge.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the vessel was brought to the water's surface about 8:15 Friday morning.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Kyle Niemi says the barge is owned by a company called 'American Bridge' although he's unsure whether the company was working on the lift bridge at the time.

There was no pollution risk to the river due to the incident. Boat traffic along that stretch of the Cuyahoga River is once again flowing.
