(Cleveland)- Spring is in full bloom at the Cleveland Botanical Garden...

Cynthia Druckenbrod, director of horticulture says the big star of the show are the more than 10,000 tulips in bright oranges, purples, yellows and pinks in full bloom that will smack you in the face when you come here.

The tulips you can walk through in the terrace area and there are other colors and varieties of tulips and daffodils.

The weather we've had is ideal for tulips since the warm up has been gradual. Druckenbrod says that means the tulips will last longer and you can seem them in bloom for another week or two.

There are 20 distinct gardens and a glasshouse showcasing both rainforest and desert plants. Another highlight is the butterflies flying around in the greenhouse.

There are some special events coming up at the garden like a Mother's Day brunch and a program called "Gourmets in the Garden" in mid-June.

The garden is open Tuesdays, Thursdays-Saturdays 10am to 5pm, Wednesdays 10am to 9pm and Sundays 12pm to 5pm. For more information go online to
