The nation's unemployment lines are longer again. Labor Department says the number of Americans filing for first-time unemployment benefits jumped by 28,000 last week, up to 385,000. The four-week moving average also went up by more than 11,000. The biggest bumps in first-time claims for benefits were in California, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania. The sharpest declines were in Virginia, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and North Carolina.
